App icon not showing in the notification bar (Android 12)

Steps to reproduce the bug

On Samsung Galaxy S22 (OneUi 4.1 - Android 12)

1. Open NewPipe
2. Play video or play video in the background
3. Icon not showing in the notification bar but the notification card is there when I swipe down

Expected behavior

I have NewPipe on my Galaxy S9+ and whenever I play a video the little NewPipe icon shows in my notification bar.

Actual behavior

The NewPipe icon is not showing on my Galaxy S22 (Android)

Reproduced on Samsung A51, also with One UI 4.1 and Android 12.

I always assumed this to be normal, because on Android 12, playing media is not a notification, in the first place.

The same behavior is observed on the latest Android 15 on Galaxy S25 series. There is no icon on notification bar

however if I extend the bar to the full size with the quick setting menu, it is shown

Are there any plans to fix this?
