Description

However, even then, placeholder text still appears:
Contradicts User Intent
- I deliberately removed all homepage content for a clean, distraction-free experience.
- Showing any instructional text undermines the customization feature, since the result is not truly blan
Why do you want this feature?
The Default Blank Page
This is unnecessary because:
- The app name is already in the top bar.
- The search icon is clearly visible.
- It goes against the intent of removing all sections for a clean, distraction-free view.
Assumption About User Knowledge
- If a user is customizing the homepage to be blank, they likely already know how the app works.
- The placeholder text feels like it’s treating all users as beginners, even in advanced customization scenarios.
Additional information
Proposed Solution
Add a toggle in homepage customization:
"Show placeholder text when homepage is empty" → On/Off
Default can remain On for new users, but allow advanced users to disable it.
Benefits
- Respects customization choices.
- Supports minimal, distraction-free UI.
- Avoids redundant instructions.
