Channel groups on the main page

Feature description

In the "Subscriptions" section, you can create a "Channel Group". It would be great if it were possible to place these channel groups on the main page, just like you can do with a playlist, kiosk, or history in the settings (settings > content > content of main page)

Why do you want this feature?

This feature would enhance user experience by allowing them to organize their subscribed channels into customizable groups. These groups could then be conveniently placed on the main screen, alongside other personalized content like playlists and kiosks. This organization would make it easier for users to access their favorite channels based on different categories or themes, streamlining their content consumption and providing a more tailored viewing experience.

I previously submitted an issue with a similar request; however, it appears that my request was misunderstood. I was informed that an issue of this nature already existed, and as a result, my original issue was closed. I hope that this time my request will be taken seriously.

It's still a duplicate of #3319. Channel groups and custom feeds with specific channels are the same things.

To clarify: a channel group is a collection of channels. A custom feed is a collection of videos from the channels in that group.

The 'default channel group' with all channels in it is the Subscriptions tab. The 'default feed' with videos from all channels is What's New.

I thought that it wasn't worth it to put this in the FAQ because it's just semantics. But maybe we should.

I apologize. It's just that last time I registered on this site for the first time and after closing the thread I didn't know what to do next, so I didn't reply.

Regarding your question:

You're proposing being able to add a new type of tab to the main page, aren't you? What do you want to see in the new tab? Videos from channel groups? Channels from one channel group? All channel groups in a separate tab from Subscriptions?

Yes, I would like to be able to insert on the main page exactly the group of channels I created in the subscription section so that it would be possible when opening the app to just swipe and get the videos I would like to see. For example, I can collect all channels on the topic of design in a channel group and will only watch content from those channels.

Let me try to explain it this way:

• "What's New" is a section with recently released videos that I'm subscribed to.
• I am subscribed to 1000 channels, among which 100 channels are about design.
• I go to the subscriptions section and there I create a group of channels, call it "Design" and add 100 channels on design (these are not all 1000 channels I am subscribed to).
• Now I have the "Design" channel group in the subscriptions section, and to see the channel group I need to: click on "menu (three bars)" > click on "subscriptions" > click on "Design".
• If this "Design" channel group could be moved to the home screen just like "What's New", "Trending", etc., then when I open the app, all I would have to do is swipe left and watch a video from the "Design" channel group.

It's a sort of cataloging of channels.

Do you want your proposed tab to contain a list of videos? Or a list of channels? When you swipe to this new tab, do you want to see "I went to the park", "This new game sucks" and "You should try this burger"? Or "Mr. Beast", "LinusTechTips" and "PewDiePie"?
